Mandatory Training?

Should you be paid for mandatory traing and how can i get proof of this

mandatatory training should be paid, especially if you have to go to work for training on your day off. the human resource dept of where you work should be able to clarify. Look at the training policy of where you work. Good luck

You need to provide more details, are you talking about CE classes or training from your career agency?

Should you be - sure. Is the employer legally obligated to pay - no. If participating in the training without compensation would be an extreme hardship for you, you should talk to your employer and see if there is anything they can do to help you - reimburse your for transportation, for example, or allow you to put off the training for a more convenient time or get the training in some other way.

If you are in the U.K. then mandatory training should take place in your working hours (known as In Session Training) and is therefore not applicable for extra pay unless you are claiming extraordinary travel and reasonable other expenses such as a hotel or light meals and refreshments that you would not normally have to pay for, however if it is to take place outside of your normal working hours, such as after they have finished (known as Twilight Session Training), or even on days when you are not scheduled to work then yes your employer must pay you for that time or at least pay for it with Time off in Lieu (i.e. extra holiday) and on top of that pay for any extraordinary expenses as listed above. This is the theory, if you do not have a contract then it is really down to the bosses or personnel department's discretion and if you have a contract that states that mandatory training regardless of when it takes place is part of your working remit then I am afraid you will just have to wear it.

The company I work for, We do pay the Employee for all Mandatory Training and If it's a day long class, we buy them lunch: Pizza, subs, ect.

We also pay for any specialty classes that the employee wish to take, as long as they鈥檙e work related (We check all grades of these class and will stop paying if student starts fall in his/her grades) But these classes will be done on the employee鈥檚 time, and the company will not cover any hourly rate on him/her.
