Insurance/ preexisting condition? |
I had hemorrhoids back in May & saw a doctor. I have insurance now, and the condition is back. i would like to have surgery. Is this now a "preexisting condition"? Will insurance cover it? BCBS Blue Value It is a pre-existing condition and usually can't be covered for 12 months. Check with your insurance company and ask if they will cover it, it might be possible if the condition was considered minor in May. Good question, You need to check with your individual plans most plans will cover Pre existing conditions after one year. So you might have to wait til May. Good Luck Yes, it's a pre-existing condition. Likely the insurance won't cover it. Simply check your coverage's definition of pre-existing conditions. If unclear, check with the carrier. But, I'd say you are fine because pre-exisiting conditions are usually reserved for something really costly (especially something potentially long term) for the insurance company. So, if you've got coverage (self or group), you will be covered. Health insuracne is for the healthy. It is not for the sick. Get well! |
