Is it easy to commit insurance fraud?

and get away with it?

In my opinion insurance companies rip there customers off, especially if they have a legitimate loss. This is partially because of insurance fraud. Ripping each other off isn't the answer. But yes...some people rip insurance companies off and get away with it.

There's not a lot that can be done about it. Except do away with insurance companies altogether and reestablish a new system. Perhaps a socialist system (Like the U.S. police department) where if you rip off the system, it will be like ripping yourself off as you got to pay taxes.

Not really....Most Insurance companys have very good fraud investigation teams.....and if caught out they nearly always prosecute you....and they got great lawyers too!!

Nope.

And even if it was .....do you think that we would tell you that... so that we could be accomplices to your crime.

(Insurance Fraud is a felony).

I was an adjuster for many years, mostly homeowners claims. I would say some degree of fraud was presented in approximately 70% of claims I handled. People are SO greedy!
Insurance companies would usually pay it, rather than fight with people. In extreme cases, they would turn down the claim completely, but would rarely prosecute for fraud. Most inside claims people are lazy administrators. That is just one of the many reasons that I got out of the industry.
I still despise people like you that want to rip off the insurance company, but unfortunately, you'll probably get away with it.

Depends on what you're talking about.

The most common insurance frauds are workers comp and auto. Approximately 30% of claims are fraudulent or exaggerated. For auto, "staging" claims is very common.

Many people get away with it. A few don't. The question for you is, is it worth jail time to take the risk?

That's why claims adjusters get so darned cynical.

too easy i used to work in insurance (home) and that is the easiest to do. by insuring an expensive item (diamond necklace etc) make sure you have cover for when you are out and get someone to "steal" it. out in a claim get the money get back the item - and away you go - i dont advise it though.

maybe to commit, not to get away with. These people are professionals at what they do.
