How long do I have to work in a year to get unemployment? Usually you have to have worked 12 of the last 15 months. It's not a calendar year, it's rolled back from your date of application. Try to state's own website. Each state has its own .gov site, and you can usually find what you're looking for going there first. You could try http://wwwy.insurer.com .
