Can a non family mender take out a life insurance policy on me?

how can i stop it they have been threating me and i have allready had my breaks tampered with the cops took report and mechinecs report about my breaks but say they cant do anything i would like to cancle this policy to make me worth nothing to them they took out the policy on thier own.

Not without your permission and consent, they can't. Oh, and someone with your id and blood type would also need to pass a paramedical exam, give blood and urine samples, and release your medical records.

He's just trying to get your goat. It only happens in the movies.

Contact the Insurance Commissioner in your state. They can tell you what the rules are where you live. You may be able to cancel the policy, but the Insurance Commissioner's office would be able to tell you exactly where you stand.

I dont think anyone can take out an insurance policy on someone without your approval. An agent is not going to write a policy without asking you about your personal and medical history.

I personally think they are trying to scare you. I think the police may be more interested in hearing about a death threat then about someone tampering with your brakes.

I also doubt very much if an insurance company would insure you without a personal history, and it makes sense that they would not insure you if the owner of the policy did not have some type of vested interest in your life.
