Does anyone have child/ren on CHIP in texas?

I was wondering if you get to choose your own doctors for this program. I'm really getting sick of Medicaid, there are no doctors here where I live on that program (PCCM) and my daughter really needs more medical care because she has Down Syndrome. I am not currently working, and I need to know if CHIP is the best way to go or not. I need something better than traditional medicaid. So anyone who is experienced with or has CHIP for their kids please let me know something about it, what it's like, how much you pay, etc... That would really help a lot!! THanX!

Are you going to QUALIFY for CHIP?

Basically, CHIP *is* a state Medicaid program. If a doctor won't take Medicaid, they're not going to take CHIP. HOw much it costs usually depends on your income - but with a Downs child, usually they get covered based on THEIR income, not family income.

I love children on chips. Add a little guacamole and it's heaven!
