Unemployment benifits?

I am currently employed full time in NY but want to move to GA. Most jobs in technical field are contract positions. If I become unemployed in GA will I be eligible for unemployment benifits.

Not if you're unemployed after a contract ends. Contract work doesn't qualify. And you won't be able to file based on your NY job, if you leave it voluntarily.
