Taxing car? |
i bort new car yest and insured it tues (today thurs). i haven receivedmy documents from the insurance so does that mean i cant tax the car yet 'Fraid so. In future, have the garage/previous owner tax it, whilst still covered by their insurance (even if you actually pay for it), as there is no way to do it otherwise. I thought that I would still be able to do it online, as I thought the DVLA computer would be able to 'see' my MOT and Insurance, even though I didn't physically have it, but apparently not. Bit of a pain in the bum. Maybe it has changed now (That was about 10 months ago), worth checking on the DVLA site. if you have not received you cover note you will not be able to. But you should receive it by tomorrow, if not call them. when i insured my car recently had mine within 2 days No, to tax your car you will need your Insurance certificate or a cover note from the insurance company If I can read your illiterate babble correctly, you are correct, you can't get it taxed until you have the insurance certificate. You will need at least a cover note from your insurer (and don't forget vehicle doc and MOT if it's over 3 years old!) Ring the insurance company - they can email or fax your cover note, the post office should accept this as long as it has your policy details Don't write to the insurance co. They will not understand your grammar or spelling. |
