Question about insurance and invitro??? |
does anybody know of a insurace that will cover most or all of the costs of invitro????? Insurance companies don't cover it as a standard benefit. I don't know of one that specifically does. Some will cover part of the costs related to invitro IF you have been trying to get pregnant and/or have tried other types of fertility treatment for a set period of time and still have been unsuccessful. More insurances will cover all or some of the related costs for trying other less invasive measures such as Intra-uterine insemination. That's what we did. Again, some insurances will only begin to cover if you attempt an IUI like three times without success or something. Most insurers exclude coverage for in vitro fertilization procedures, since they are considered elective and not essential to the health of those covered under the policy. The ONLY insurance that will cover it, would be a group policy through your employer. Even then, there's a limited number of attempts, and copays and deductibles. Most will cover it, as long as the doctor approves it.. |
