Liberty mutual homeowners insurance opinions? Looking to switch.?

I'm thinking of switching my homeowners insurance to Liberty Mutual... they have a great price for me, but before I do, I was hoping to get some opinions from anyone who has had or has insurance through them? Any bad experiences? How is their customer service? Thanks!

i have a good friend who has his home and auto there. he loves them. they are a very reputable company. he in fact had a total loss on his auto when his young son wrecked it. the claims process was very easy and they treated him more than fair on it. i would have no problems saying to move your policies to them

They're a fine company. But make sure you're comparing coverages, apples to apples.

I have Liberty Mutual as my auto insurance company, and when I pay a house they will also have my homeowners. I haven't had a problem with them yet.

Typically, insurance rates and coverage forms are filed by the various insurance companies that are licensed to do business in your State, and they vary from State to State.

The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems, and give you rate comparisons of several different companies.

An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can.

Most of the replies on this site say "go to this on-line carrier or that on-line carrier or that 1-800 number" but I'm sure that when you do, you might not find out the answers that an independent agent can give you.

Good luck and I hope this helps
