Insurance / Workman's comp. problem? |
Back in August, i was living in Dallas, Texas, and working at a place called Sam's Club (Sub-corporation of Walmart). Did you file a work comp claim for the bee sting?? If so, call your adjuster at the insurance carrier. You are being billed because the provider does not know where to send the bill so you are getting it because you are the patient. You can send the bill to your work comp carrier and they should contact the provider and them them bill the insurance carrier directly. don't let this go, you work comp carrier is not ignoring the bill, they probably have no idea it exists. This is a situation that happens all the time with insurance carriers and provider bills. if they have no records of you even in there , then why are they sending you bills? Ask them that..You should call the place you work for and talk too them..you dont have to pay anything because it happened on the job. OMG...this happens all the time. It's a pain in the neck. I guess you get what you pay for. Call the Hospital patient accounts dept and have them look it up again. Ask for a supervisor if you have a hard time with the "clerk". They may be looking under the wrong spelling of your name. Get the insurance info from your employer so that you can provide it to the billing dept for the bill you are getting. The employers' workers' compensation insurance carrier is responsible for these charges. Your manager may have given the hospital the wrong information. Get hold of the H.R. dept with the employer and find out who handles WC issues. You contact your manager, and ask them if Sam's Club is self insured in Texas. They might be - TX allows large employers to self insure for WC, in which case, the claim should be sent through the risk manager. |
