Is the optional insurance offered by rental car companies necessary if you do not have a full coverage policy

Is the optional insurance offered by rental car companies necessary if you do not have a full coverage policy

what will you do if you total the rental car? pay for it out of your pocket? yes, you need to buy the insurance.

Well, it's called optional for a reason but it's not expensive and I say it's well worth it because you never know what could happen while riding in that car and you can never estimate how other drivers on the road are going to be.

Absolutely.
There are people who do not own cars, and consequently have no ins, who will rent a car for occasions. No optional coverage, no car.

Any time a person rents a car they are required to have some type of full coverage insurance (by most rental companies). If you do not have full coverage, more than likely they will require you to purchase their insurance.
