I am preping for my New Jersey Property and Casualty state exam.?

I was wondering if you do not do well on 1 or 2 of the 3 parts (Property, Casualty and Law) do you have to retake the entire test or do you just take the part that you didn't pass over? I called promissor and they said you just re-take that part then I called my school (American School Of Business) and they said you have to retake the entire thing. Anyone from NJ take this test and have any input??

Thank you!

I took the NJ P&C exam. You have to pass the school exam first to sit for the state exam. One person in my class had to take the school exam a second time & he passed. My whole class passed the state test (there were about 25 of us). If you can pass the school exam, you can pass the state exam. When I sat for the state exam, I only studied the school exam (we were allowed to keep the school exam to study from) & I think I got a 96 on the state exam.
Just remember, don't over analyze the questions. Your first best guess is probably correct. If you are not sure of an answer, skip it & go back to it later. Reading the rest of the exam sometimes gives you an answer you were not sure of. Also, eliminate answers that you are sure are wrong. This helps too. Also, a lot of the questions are double negatives (ie - this is not covered except when that happens), which is how many of the policy forms are written.
I would think you would have to take the whole state exam again (I know you would have to retake the whole school exam) if you didn't pass, but only the people that give the exam can tell you that for sure.
When I took the P&C test, if you wanted to take the health portion, it was only 5 more questions. I got all 5 correct & had my health license too. I never used it but I had it just in case. I don't know if that is still offered (but you had to pass the life & health exam from the school to take it - I knew I never wanted to sell life insurance so I didn't take the life section of the state exam, even though I passed the school life exam).
Get a good night's sleep the night before, relax & you will do just fine.
