Does anyone know a web or.? |
my friend wants to be a life insurance agent do you have to go to college or does anyone know how to get started in being a insurance agent. Truth is that a formal education directly contributes to very few jobs with the exception of doctors, architects, and so on. It's more a right of passage. I dont think there is any formal education. A bachelor's degree would help. Here is a site that lists few insurance jobs, I think your friend should apply online http://www.placementindia.com/job-recrui... In Ohio where I am an agent, what you have to do is take 40 hours of class room work and then take a state test presented by the department of insurance. I imagine that it is the same for most states. As for getting started in life insurance I know a lot of people get started w/ Western and Southern Life, personally I have never dealt w/ or sold for that company, but I know a lot of people who have and they all say it is long hours. you don't need a degree. All you need is to take a 40 hour course, most states, then sit for an exam. Go to your state insurance department website. For life insurance, you usually have to have a company sponsor you before you can get your license. It does vary by state, though. |
