What would be the average pay for car insurance per month?

i am 18 years old and my parents dont want me on there car insurance because they dont want to be liable .what would be the average pay for car insurance per month if i went on my own for the first time?

If you're thinking about going on your own for the first time, then you should look around at different companies to see how much they would charge. But i'm going to tell you this upfront so take this to heart: Because you are under the age of 25, your insurance is going to be SKYHIGH! I really don't know how much it would be off the top of my head, but it'll be high since the age for insurance is 25. At that age, your insurance would be a lot lower versus if you were under that age. I got my car when i was 27, so my insurance was low.

And you may want to look into a smaller, private owned company to do car insurance with. That's what i did. When I purchased my '03 Chevy Monte Carlo two years ago, the people i bought it from at Ford (i bought mine used) set me up with a dealer to do insurance with and it turned out well. I was paying about $217/mo. to start off with. Each month, my insurance kept going lower and lower. One year later, i was paying about $10 less than what i originally started paying for my insurance. It helps when you don't have any accidents at all or tickets. That's what happened to me. I also think it all depends on where you live since different states have different laws regarding car insurance to anyone under 25. Another factor that companies use to distribute car insurance is the area or neighborhood you live in. Do you live in a safe, quiet neighborhood or a neighborhood where there's a lot of rundown buildings and rampant crime? That's the biggest factor and it sucks because if you live in a bad part of town, your insurance is going to be higher and if you're living in a town where hardly nothing happens and is safe, then your insurance is significantly lower. It bites because you have people with no insurance who really wants to get it but they just can't afford it!

I hope this helps. If you decide to get a car right now, good luck to you and please be careful out there! Use extreme caution!

in addition to Nate's answer, you will get a much lower rate with a small 4 cylinder car that is NOT a sports car. Those cost a lot. Pickups cost more than cars. Don't get any speeding tickets or it will go up the next month and stay with you for 3 years (longer with some companies.) And I personally don't like Geico because when my son had them, they charged him a higher rate just because he had been in a wreck and it wasn't his fault at all.

You need to call around for quotes. There are far too many variables to answer based on the little bit of information you gave.

Honestly, your question is like asking, "What is the average IQ of a high school graduate?" It depends on where you are. The first person said he pays about 217/month for insurance. I pay 525 per year for two vehicles/drivers.

You will need to talk to an experienced personal lines insurance agent. They will know the pricing for your area and demographic (age, sex, driving history, etc). They will also be able to work with you to get the exact coverage you need. If you are uncertain what coverage you need, he/she will be able to explain it all.

Ask your parents / friends / co-workers who they get their insurance through and pick someone close to you. Make sure to ask them how many companies they represent. A decent size agency will work with 5-10 different companies and can match you up with what you need. If they only represent 1 or 2 companies, they will just sell you what those companies offer.

Good luck.

In Malaysia, the annual car insurance premium for a RM28,000 Perodua Kancil is RM937.20. For a RM40,000 Proton Wira 1.5, the premium is RM1,275.50.

You need to pay the car insurance premium in yearly basic.

Typically, insurance rates are filed by the various insurance companies that are licensed to do business in your State, and they vary from State to State.

If I were you, I would check with your parents' agent first - as they already have a "track record" on your driving history (or should) and it might make the start-up process a little easier.

The best thing to do is call a LOCAL independent agent. Just look in the phone book for the PIA or Big I (Trusted Choice) logos and you will find a professional licensed agent that will be able to help you solve your insurance problems.

An independent insurance agent will normally have a dozen different companies and if he cannot help you, he should be networked with other local agents that can. They will probably have someone they can recommend that specializes in youthful operators!

Good luck, drive RESPONSIBLY and I hope this helps!
