Of course it will. Government run programs are the most expensive way to get the worst service.

See everyone lining up to get into government housing? Do you love trying to call the DMV? Ever try to find someone willing to take responsibility to solve your problem? Just wait until you get DMV service at the doctor's office!

Not if it is run right. Of course, judging by the way the U.S. handles other socialized programs like public schools, Medicare, the VA to name a few, I doubt that it would be.

The Canadian health care system is socialized, but it doesn't work that well (of course, that might depend on who you ask). Some people die waiting for treatment. But look at France, according to the World Health Organization, their health care system is the best in the world and they have socialized health care. The U.S. on the other hand, is ranked as number 37. We rank much lower than the other of the more developed and wealthy nations in the world. What does that say about us?

I don't think there will ever be a clear answer to your question, i.e. including the U.S. I think we should have better regulations on private health care in this country. But you have to also look at the big insurance companies in this country who lobby heavily on Capitol Hill. This helps them because they usually get what they want. Please don't forget about Middle Class America which suffers also. They pay out a lot also. It costs a lot in this country to get sick.
