Where can I find individual health insurance that will accept you if you've had gastric bypass surgery? I'd check with a local health agent, but your best bet is through an employer's group health policy. See, there are some serious potential side effects from gastric bypass, and most carriers aren't going to want to take that on. mbrcatz is quite correct. My wife is a practicing gastroenterologist, and she cringes every time someone comes in wanting such surgery. While it's effective in weight loss, it many times causes a host of after procedure problems which can cost an insurer dearly. try incorporating a 'lien'... I'm not so sure about health insurance but other insurance types put a clause mentioning that claims cannot be made specific to a 'lien'... ex. any complications caused by gastric bypass surgery will not be included in the coverage... |
