LVN malpractice insurance.?

I'll be graduating from LVN school and getting my license in Texas in January 2008. I need to know what insurance company I need to contact for malpractice insurance.

I have had this question come up in my agency (here in Texas), so, I turned to my son that runs a nurse staffing company and asked him.

He told me that you should look in the back of ANY Nursing magazine. There are normally ads for liability insurance that will insure new nurses.

In most cases, you would be insured by the place you work for, i.e., hospital, nursing home, clinic - but, if they "hung you out to dry" it wouldn't hurt to have your own....just in case.

He tells me that it's NOT very expensive!

I would've suggested that the Nursing School Grad check with their State Nurses Assn. Sometimes the State Associations have programs set up with the larger Ins Companies, which are not normally accessible to the individual. Report It
