What does Compensation mean ??

something given or received as payment or reparation
a defense mechanism that conceals your undesirable shortcomings by exaggerating desirable behaviors
recompense: the act of compensating for service or loss or injury

With a job it would be a term used when describing what a company pays to retain you.
It would include salary, bonus, stock options, 401K matching, pension plan (if applicable) and health benefits (which today are increasingly important).
