I lent my friend $2500. and they live in another state.will i be able to get my money back?

Them living in another state doesn't affect your ability to get your money back. They're just as good for it now, as they were before they moved.

if your friend is not a cheater, you will get ur money back, you may better ask your friend, not yahoo answers

YES! It is your friend who has borrowed not an acquaintance. When you talk on the phone or chat on-line - throw the conversation in the direction of the money - be honest - it's your friend. Treat them like you always did and things will work - it's when money changes our attitudes that people become distant.

Well if your friends want to pay you back you can get your money but if they don't want to pay you may never see any money.
Even if you have a written and signed agreement all you can do is file a judgment against them. They still don't have to pay plus you will have to spend more money in the attempt to collect.
The only bright side is if you get a judgment on them they will have to pay you if they come into some money whether it be from inheritance, lottery, land or home sales etc....
Personally I feel if you have $2500 to lend to someone then you probably can afford to part with it for awhile. Make repay terms with your friend as to make it a casual loan and not that you need to have the money or you'll break legs.
Remember this; never lend out anything that you are not prepared to never see again. I never lend out anything anymore because I have lost tools, books, movies, money, appliances, and yes my car once that never came back so I guess you get the picture.

That depends on the value of your friendship.
Unfortunately, most people would burn you for less.
Sorry.

Verbal contracts over $500 usually have no value according to the Statute of Frauds. You either need a good friend or an even better lawyer to get your money back.
