Yes. It will be pretty much impossible to get a private policy, but you'll still be eligible for basic coverage on an employer's group policy.

Try to find a job that offers group benefits, Also try joining the lions club or the rotary club. I believe they give there members life benefits.

Yes. If guaranteed issue policies are available in your state, that is the only option I know of in the short term. In the long run, it really depends on the type of tumor you have, how it is treated and so on.
