Question about Tricare Prime Coverage???? |
My husband deployed 9 months ago and I moved 5 hours away from Fort Riley (our duty station) to live with my parents. I went to the doctor for depression and she referred me to see a psychiatrist. He wants me to come regularly to see him and his therapist for the next 2 months and also wrote we a script for a prescription. What will tricare cover of this? Any of it? My husband said I need to call them and tell them I'm far away from a post and had to go to a civilian for coverage and they should cover it. Is this true?? Is there anything I need to do to ensure they pay the dr. bills??? Thanks To my knowledge, Tricare will cover civilian medical providers as long as they're in the network and that the member is active duty. My office is smack between two military bases (USMA at West Point and Stewart ANG Base are within 20 minutes of both of my offices) and we see a fair amount of Tricare patients. I don't know the answer, but start with the website for the Tricare region you are in. There should be beneficiary information there or a phone number that you can call to get some answers. contact tricare. Usually when you are too far from a military installation to get care, they will cover at least a portion of the cost. you may have to see a doctor in the network or have prior approval for it. |
