What jobs are there for a 14-year-old?

I was wondering what kind of jobs are out there for a 14-year-old girl for money, in the summer?

baby sitting
gardening
paper rounds
shopping for elderly
Cafe's/restaurants
Make and sell you own fresh juice in summer.
Ebay
Clear people's driveways/sweep/grovel
Local parks
Adverts/magazines modelling
Pet minding
Some independant can/glass collectors
Tutoring for younger kids
Car wash
Warehouses/factories
Car garages
Become an apprentice of something
A runner in veg shops/corner shops etc
Family jobs: Wash cars, shopping, gardening etc

Professionally, your employer will have to carry out a risk assessment.
They're not allowed to emply you during school hours. Nothing before 7am or after 7pm. You are allowed to work a max of 5 hrs a day and no more than 25 hrs a week.

Personally, I washed cars to neighbours, friends and relatives. Inside and out. I got around 拢15 per complete job :)

You could do chores or run errands for neighbors and parents, but there aren't any legal places that hire people under 16.

babysitting
some summer camps pay

Babysitting, Gas stations, house cleaning, reading to elderly. I'm 14 too.

coffee shops

and i kno this childcare place, but i depends where u live

Sell lemonade...
lol.
or Babysit

babysitting
house-cleaning
washing cars
walking dogs
mowing lawns/yard work

baby sitting and a job at a supermarket. these are about the only places that will hire a 14 year old.

Babysitting, pet/house sitting, mowing yards, being a lifeguard for a local pool...

in most states its illegal to hire someone that is under the age of 16. you should probaly look into easy around the neighborhood. carwashes, babysitting, raking leaves. If you live in an apartment complex with only 1 trash compactor you can charge people like $10 a week to take their trash out for them. that job seems stupid but think.....if you have 10 customers, thats $100 a week....$400 a month....and for what...to take out some trash

babysitting, mowing. some small restuarants might let you wash dishes for a minimum wage

get a job at publix

Bagger at a groccery store and usually bus boy. Not really interesting and don't pay well but it gets you prepared for the real world.

car washes, dog walker, baby sitter.

paper route

working as a busgirl, or cashier.

Babysitting. I do it all the time and I'm RICH!!!!! *evil laugh*

bbaysitting,
bagger at a grocery store.

....... babysitting, sometimes amuzement parks........

summer camps

I'd try babysitting, if that's available in your area.

I'd also say waitressing or fast food, but you seem a bit young for that.

When I was your age I did a few different things; I delivered papers, bussed tables at local restaurants, and even worked part time at a family fun park. However, I think with the restrictions on child labor employers nowadays are more cautious when employing people your age. You will just need to search and find something you like.

Maybe Mcdonalds or something. I think you have to be 16 and get a job permit to get a job.

if you wanted to get your work permit form the courthouse then you could be a waitress or bus girl.

golf caddy
mow lawns
rake leaves
other yard work

go to your local golf course and ask if they need people to get golf carts ready for golfers and u can clean them off and get them ready and stuff like that

McDonalds, Baby-sitting, yard work, other places that will hire at 14, check arround your town, you might even find something you'll like.

Keep in mind that a variety of laws prohibit employers from hiring minors. You may think you are qualified but the employers hands are tied.

Any job involving powered equipment, using hot ovens or fryers, handling sharp objects, handling hazardous or flammable chemicals, providing direct healthcare/assistance to the sick or elderly, handling alcoholic beverages or pharmaceutical products ... these are but a few of the areas barred to minors.

The law can be lenient if you are with a parent or guardian at a family business or working on a small farm, but that's usually not much help.

Babysitting and simple lawn work are common jobs. Others MAY include hand-laying sod and other gardening tasks; grocery bagger, broom-boy and cart-fetcher at a grocery store; host/hostess at a restaurant; picking up trash at sporting events (your local auto racetrack, baseball field, malls), mucking stalls / general help at horse stables... There are some opportunities out there.

The key is to be professional and reliable. Nobody want to hire a "kid" who doesn't show up on time. Nobody needs someone who can't separate worktime from playtime.

A few suggestions from one who has hired minors -
- LEAVE THE CELLPHONE ON VIBRATE AND NEVER "TEXT" WHILE ON THE CLOCK.... okay, maybe not "never" but a supervisor does not want to see you stopping to chat every time Jenny hears another Hanson song she loves.
- Dress for the job. Do not wear your "good" shoes to work if it means you won't do anything that might scuff them up.
- Your boss is "Mister" or "Missus" or "Sir" or "Ma'am" ... Your boss is never "Dude."
- This is not grade school. They may have let you pass fifth grade because your "really, really tried your hardest" but in the real world you keep your spot and earn a better one by succeeding, not just trying. You wouldn't be very happy if your boss "really, really tried" his hardest to pay you, would you?
