Any reputable recruiters for the Indianapolis area?

Or for that matter, any advice for a career search other than online?

It greatly depends on your field of expertise and level of compensation. What may work for an entry level person is much different than that of a senior level executive.

Most jobs are filled through a personal referral...a role that the best recruiters fill. If you are currently employed and looking to make a change in your field, find a recruiter in that field and let them work to open the door for you. Check with associations, peers, and yes, on-line for sources. It is not important that the recruiter be located where you are, such as Indianapolis. It is more important that you are comfortable with them and they are providing you with good counsel in your search.

Of course the online concept is a place to start. Failing that I would look at national agencies with a track record. Alternately you could contact a professional with whom you have a relationship such as a minister, doctor or lawyer to suggest an agency or lead.
