Nice place to have Wedding ceremony and Reception, that don't cost 2 arms?

I'm looking for a relatively cheap place to get married in the Indianapolis, or surrounding cities. I would prefer not go get married outside. Everywhere seems to be booked or cost way too much. Any ideas would be helpful!!!!!

Many churches will be happy to make facilities available at low cost but will be insulted if you try and demand there be "no religious stuff." It is helpful if you are a member but some have the space and need the income. They also consider it better to encourage marriage than the alternatives.

VFW, American Legion and Union Halls can often be rented reasonably. If you live in an apartment complex the clubhouse can often be reserved at no or low cost.

While chilly this time of year there are many large shelters available at Eagle Creek Park and some of the other Indy Parks.

Much depends on the kind of ceremony you are hosting. If it is to be a totally non-secular exchange of vows then your options can include the local cinema. If you have a favorite coffee house (I know a neat one in Irvington) that is ordinarily closed during certain hours then perhaps you could make yours a very unique ceremony.

Butler University use to have a very nice place for weddings. I had a friend who was married in a formal wedding in the big round Rotundum of the State House.
