Does anyone know a really good lawer in Franklin County Indiana?

If anyone gives you a name here, be very cautious about it. A good lawyer will specialize in one area or a few areas of the law. What makes a lawyer good, along with being smart and hard working, is experience.

No lawyer can get experience in every area of the law. Just as the best doctors specialize in one particular branch of medicine, so the best lawyers have specialties as well. You would not go to a psychiatrist for surgery, no matter how good a psychiatrist he is.

I've spent a lifetime as a lawyer, and I like to think I'm very good at what I do. But I am not a criminal lawyer, and I don't do any trial work. If someone came to me needing either specialty, I would refer that person to another lawyer with expertise in those fields.

And that's what I recommend you do. If you don't know anyone who's been in your situation and can recommend the lawyer they used, call another lawyer--not to hire him, but to get a referral. The referring lawyer could have a different specialty or be in a different town. Good lawyers know other good lawyers.
