Best way to find a job in evansville indiana?

Best way to find a job in evansville indiana?

Getting a job in Evansville is no different from getting a job anywhere else, which is to say that there is no one best way. Some of it is luck, some of it is just being persistent, and a lot of it depends on what skills you have. It is tough--but not impossible--to get a job around Christmas, because a lot of people are taking vacations and not around to interview.

Anyway, here are some places to start.

First, there is a big job fair in Evansville at the end of January. If you don't find a job by then, you should check it out. http://www.courierpress.com/careerfest/

Obviously, you should be looking at the classified ads in the newspaper (the main one is the Evansville Courier Press). http://web.courierpress.com/hotjobs/

Going to temp agencies, as the previous answer suggested, can be a good idea. Some companies prefer to hire people who have proven they can do the job by working first as a temp. But be very careful: some temp agencies still make you sign a contract that says you will not take a permanent position at any company where they send you on a temp assignment. That kind of prohibition used to be more common than it is today, but some agencies may still try to get away with it. Here is a Google list of a bunch of temporary employment agencies in the Evansville area. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&um=1&i...

Of course, there is also Craig's List. They don't usually carry listings for high-end jobs, but you might find something that suits you. It's easy enough to look at it every day and see what comes through. http://evansville.craigslist.org/

Beyond these ideas, the best way to get a job is often just pounding the pavement and knocking on doors. That's probably the least fun, of course, but a lot of people get hired that way.

I hope this helps, and I wish you very good luck!!

Try a temp agency such as Kelly or Robert Half. Check the Sunday newspaper online or a print copy for the town.

The answers given above are all valid and good ways to find a job.

There's always the online job networks like Monster, Hotjobs, Careerbuilder, Careerpath, Snagajob, etc.

One other way is by finding a One-Stop in your area. There are counselors there that will be able to help you and it's all free. They also have many, many job listings for all areas of employment.
