What is it like to live as a GLBT person in Richmond, Indiana?

We are considering moving to Richmond and would like to know!

I can't speak for Richmond, but as a Hoosier, there seems to be a lot of conservatism here.
Some areas are tolerant, where others are just rednecked about the whole thing.
I think Lafayette is a "gay friendly" city. Unfortunately thanks to Mitch Daniels, Indiana is not the best state for GLBT.
Since Richmond is next to Ohio, that may or may not make a difference.
I had a gay friend that moved over to Columbus and has found living there easier as a gay person.

I'm not from Richmond either, BUT for Indiana, the one thing it has going for it is Earlham College. It is actually Quaker-based, I believe, but is extremely liberal and diverse. Seems like college towns are almost always better as far as openness and diversity goes. And in case you want to high tail it out of there, it, of course, is home of the world famous Tom Raper RVs! :)
