Relocating from Indianapolis with large family is RTP, NC a good place?

My husband and I have 6 children ranging from ages 11-4 months...we are thinking of relocating from Indianapolis. We have not decided where we would like to relocate to as of yet. Some places we have had in mind are the RTP, NC area and Austin, TX. I am leaning more towards, NC and he is leaning more toward Austin...but we have never been to either. I have done online research and both seem to be growing area's, with decent job markets. We would like to live in a city with a good education system obviously, and we would like a place with a good family atmosphere, but we would also like to be able to have a blue moon night out on the town every now and then. We are looking for a place to buy a decent size home for our family with a decent price. Does the RTP area get hit by hurricanes or do they just have the effects of hurricanes. Is the job market only good if you have a degree or is it also fair for those w/ experience pursuing degrees?

The west side, Brownsburg, Plainfield, etc. is a good upscale area for families.
If you want a small town atmoshere, you can move a little more west to Danville.
They planned ahead for the migration and have been able to grow without becoming too big.
I can't speak for living in NC, but I know the job market in Indy is diverse and cost of living is much lower than some cities. Also we are going to the Superbowl!

Jobs are kind of tough right now in Indy, tomorrow it's zero degrees(without wind chill)...........better education, more to the north side, or suburbs but a great place for kids, think brownsburg area (west of Indy) home prices are pretty good there terrible public transportation
