You must be a traveler using a Maestro Card. You can use them at some merchants that take Maestro. A maestro card is a foreign issued debit card. You would select debit/atm button and enter your pin to make a purchase.

If you didn't call your bank before you left, you should call them and tell them there you are out of the country so the fraud department will be aware of unusual transactions. Some banks also require the card to be activated for international purchases. Keep an eye on the transaction fees that you may get for purchases and atm withdraws. You can get cash back at some merchants using the debit button (from $20 to $50). This will save you on the atm fees

However, since your card is a foreign issued Maestro. It might work as a Credit card but I am not sure.

Even are US issued MasterCard debit card have a Maestro symbol on the back.
