How do I figure square feet into yards of concrete? |
How do I figure square feet into yards of concrete? Since concrete is measured in volume the the correct term is cubic feet. To measure cubic feet you need to figure the cubic feet of the area you wish to fill. Lets say you are pouring a concrete slab at 6" deep and the area is a 6 ft by 9 ft. The 6 by 9 area covers 54 square feet. The 6 inches is one half foot, so 54 X .5 =27 cubic feet. a cubic yard of concrete is 3 raised to the 3rd power or 3X3X3=27cubic feet of concrete. Divide sq ft by 3?? 9 sq. ft. is 1 sq. yard. it is correct that there are 9 square feet in a square yard. if yo uhave trouble with other conversions i reccomend this website: 9 sq ft is a yard. |
