If somebody moves out of town and didn't recieve their mail about a court hearing and the final hearing was ok

the father was granted custody can the mother file a motion to have the judges decion over turned

The judge will not care that someone was not notified or did not get their mail.What ever he ruled that day will have to stay.I would request a new hearing and a new judge.Get a lawyer,if they can't afford it go see the free legal aid.Good Luck!

You lost me as to who did what, but I'll answer this way..

If you didn't receive notice because you moved, and a bad judgment was filed against you because you were not there, you file to have the judgment vacated, which means it's back to square one as if nothing had been decided.

If you convince the court that it was reasonable for you to not receive the notice,,,that is. In custody cases, there is usually a requirement for each parent to inform the other of their location. If "somebody" failed to obey that order, the judge may refuse to vacate the order and you will have no other recourse except an appeal. There are also permissible excuses--such as fleeing domestic violence and such.

Good luck with that. She should have known there was going to be a final hearing. You have to serve the paperwork at least 20 days beforehand to the other parent. You don't show up, you're just proving to the judge that you don't care.

Depends...usually those kinds of cases require the other party to be "served" so that there is a verified receipt of the pending case. If you were served then moved out of town, it's your fault for not setting up a forwarding address.
