I was harassed by my boss so bad that I had to quit my job, is there anything I do about that?

Depending on the state that you live and the type of employment (federal or private sector), you should look up your local equal employment opportunity commission office (www.EEOC.gov) and ask to file an inquiry with their staff. They will be able to investigate the situation. Depending on what your intentions are, they could get you the job back or just have some peace of my that justice was done. If you are not satisfied with the mediation offered by eeoc you then can pursue legal action, again depending on your intentions that could mean a cash settlement or simply an apology.

If your state does not have a local eeoc office, then call your state attorney generals office and they can direct you to the state division of human rights.

It depends on the kind of harassment. If it was sexual, then you can sue him/her. I don't know about lawsuits for other kinds of harassment. If I were you, I would just move on and try to find another job. I once had a horrible boss who would throw trash on my desk and call me "boy," but I just got over it and got another job.

The same thing happened to me at my last job. I was disrespected and sexually harrassed on a regular basis, and I finally decided to quit. I am not sure what you can do about it now that you have already quit. I know that a number of the other women at my last job wanted to file a suit against the boss, but I had already removed myself from the situation. I honestly think that the best thing you could have done was to quit and move on with your life. Find an even better job where that kind of nonsense is not tolerated. Now that you have had this experience, you know not to stand for it again.

Get another job and in doing so, don't complain about the job you just quit! "Bury" the harassment.

You can get a lawyer and try to sue, but the percentages are absolutely lousy that anything will get done. This was a last-ditch option while you still worked there, but it is probably a waste of time now that you've left.

The laws about harassment and worker discrimination are full of holes and loopholes and unenforceable provisions. Don't count on anything good coming out of this -- get another job and forget the fools you had to put up with.

It would take a lot of money on your part and most bosses win in court, the judge is always on the bosses side coz so many people go to court over silly things!Just the way the system works!
