How do i hold salespersons who are not on commission accountable for misordered material? other than dismissal |
I have a buiding supply center which I employee several salespersons. If they misorder an item ie. doors, windows how can i hold them accountable other than making them pay for it or firing them. My storage rooms are filling up with misorders. I lose my butt when trying to sell at discounted prices or auctions. any ideas would be helpful Whoa you need to start with the base of the problem. Why are your sales people not capable of ordering the correct items? Seems that would be part of their Job Description and expected of them. You need to implement a new ordering system. Maybe designate on administrative person to do all the ordering and also perhaps you should have to approve and check all orders prior to them being placed. Once people lose their freedom to do their jobs loosley, know they are being monitored and held accountable, they usually get with it or move on. Maybe you could force them to take a couple of days off when a misorder happens. First you need to identify the reason they are misordering so much. |
