I need information on the mold standards for apartment buildings in Indiana?

I was looking at purchasing a couple of muli-unit buildings. The basement apartments had rotted wall boards and 2x4s. and the next time I saw it the wallboard was replaced in a few areas. What if I were to have bought them and then someone that lives there contacts the board of health?

I lived in an apartment in Columbia MD that unknown to me at the time was fill with black mold near every water source in the home, (hot water heater, sinks, bathroom) The only way I found this out was stepping on the floor I would sink in and after living there 5 months they finally set maintiance up there and that's when they lifted up the carpets and oh my word.. During the 5 months before I was always coughing (ALWAYS< to the point of vomit) and it took another 10 months befor allergy tests revealed I was allergic to mold. But even 2 yrs later I still have breathing problems as the spores are in my lungs. It does take alot to prove the mold in the apartment did it, and lawyers said it would be even though I brought the Howard County HD in....It was me against the complex. It's good see you as a potential building buyer are concerned with this issue. I would contact the Board of health and they will probably mention bring OSHA in for air quality tests
