I want to start selling muffins to offices in the mornings for their employees do you think it will work? |
I want to deliver freshly made muffins and bagels to local offices. I think it would be great for them to order ( the day before) and I would deliver to them the next morning. Maybe if this works, add a lunch menu where we would deliver to the office as well. What do you think? You should start by sampling the companies and their employees. You want to make sure it would not violate any of the companies' policies, and you'd want to make sure the employees would want (and pay for) the service. Then, you need to check with your city's business license division to make sure you have the proper permits for doing that, and there will probably be a health department certification required as well. If you do all that, you should be good to go. Good luck! Entrepreneurship is what makes America great! I think it would work but I am not sure of the preordering part. Usually the person isn't thinking about what they want to have for breakfast tomorrow, only right now, this morning. The preordering would work for meetings and such. You would do really well with offices that are in the "industrial area" as they tend to be off the beaten path of downtown and food is not as easily to get to. It's a great idea, but the only problem would be how the "higher ups" feel about an "outsider" coming into the company. I know my company probably wouldn't allow it only because there is no solicitation, but we office people would be gung-ho because we love to eat! I would make sure you know all the rules about gaining access to an office for monetary gain. Food or no food....some people are really funny about that...like, what's it it for them type people. That's what I myself have to work with. It just depends on each company's work ethics. Good Luck in your endeavors, though! Yup, do it. As stated above, check into the regulations because it is food, but go for it! And don't quit because it will take a while to get it going. I think this is a great idea, we have people like this at our office. Its great, I mean who wants to go out of their way during work to get something to eat. Appetite might catch up once you have sat down and settled down at your desk. Person with food comes a callin', and here we go. Lunch is probably better and yes I'd let them sample before. you have to go to the board of health and get a serve safe certificate to serve any food products along with your food permit! but it will take effort on your part but its a great idea definitely go for it and good luck!! I have read all the answers you have recieved and each make a very good point. If the companiy or companies will not allow you to seel with in their company itself, see about a vendors license. This was you can set up outside of one of the business to get strated by. Word of mouth from the patrons who smell your muffins in the morning with travel to other companies. Those other ones may want to contact you about ordering for thie company brunches extra. It may take alittle while to get the word around but if what you are selling is very tasty then remember the way to a person if thru FOOD. And every one these days do not have time to eat prior to leaving for work.So check out the vendors license. Also have plenty of your own business cards that you can have for those who buy from you. Or if you are going to pre print your own bags then have all the information printed on it that you can take special orders to be deleiverd as well. Yes try selling them on the north side of indianapolis. |
