My friend mother lost her job what should we do.?

I think Indiana is the worse state for unemployment there have been so many factories close and other things are cutting back. She should file for unemployment and get out there and look for another job. I wish her luck in finding a job because I know they are hard to find right now.

What line of work was she in?

If she has a degree, there is halfway decent temporary job available through Kelly Services. At CTB/McGraw Hill, she can grade ISTEP and other states' standardized tests. The administration is a pain, and they don't really respect their employees, but you meet really interesting people (Most of the evaluators have degrees in philosophy, music, fine arts, or other areas which won't help you find a job easily). Most of the time they'll need at least 600 people for a project, so chances are pretty good that you'll get a spot. They pay pretty well, too--$10.50/hour, and a little more if you work the evening shift. You get some strange papers in the essays (which I grade), and the best part is, when you leave the building, they encourage you to put it all out of your head.
