Hi, we are working couple, both in same company, both in 30% tax slab. Can we both claim HRA? |
Please share more tax saving tips for working couples Legally u cannot do it.. Hi, as per income tax act there is no bar to claim hra by both husband & wife .but it is not beneficial for both of you to show rent 50 -50 as by doing this your rent paid and rent received calculation will be less and exemption will be reduced.if you are living in separate houses than you bath can easily claim hra.but if you are leaving in one house than you should show that you have paid rent form such & such month & ur wife has paid the rest of month. |
