Depriciation on computers?


Depriciation on computers?

It is 60% if the computer is held for more than 6 months, if it is below 6 months then 30%. This depriciation is in fource even for this running financial year.

" Central Board of Direct Taxes, Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance Notification dated 4 September 1998.Government of India has raised the maximum depreciation for computers to 60% "

It really depends on your depreciation method that you apply.

Generally though, 3 years.

10-20% in first 6 months
25% if more than 1 year
30% after 2 years
50% after 3 years ...here the dip is more for techology gets outdated faster

after 4 years any computer is a waste ......

the percentages vary for laptops where the first year dip is more
