How to calculate NRI status? |
I work in merchant navy and maintaining my NRI status for last many years. This year, I came to India on 14th june, i.e. I landed in India on 14th june. Now, I want to know, on which date should I fly or leave India so that my NRI status remains valid. I already know, that one has to spend 182 days outside India, but the only confusion is, whether the day we leave India and the day we land up in India are also counted or not? To be on safe side, please leave India on 11th Dec.07. To be on safe side I am calculating the day you landed 14th June and the day you are leaving 11th Dec. is also taken as your stay in India for the purpose of 182 days. |
