My earning is Rs. 17000 . How much money i should save.?

If your earnings are Rs.17,000 per month, then your yearly income is Rs.2,04,000. To avoid payment of Income Tax, you have to invest in any 80C investments like PPF, LIC premium, NSC, bank FD etc. How much amount to invest in 80C is given below.

If you are a male= Invest Rs.94,000
If you are a female= Invest Rs.59,000
If you are a Senior citizen= Invest Rs.9,000.

If you invest the above said investment, then there will not be any tax liability for you for this running financial year (FY;07-08)

elders said minimum 10% of earnings into savings ,
maximum depeds upoon your standard of living and other issues.

Uh, well I would save 20-30% of that, so yeah...
