What is upper limit of u/s 80G (donation) of income tax 1961 ?

Maximum limit of 80G (depends on your gross income):
If aggregate of the sums donated exceed 10% of the adjusted gross total income, the amount in excess of 10% ceases to be entitled for tax benefit

(For applying the qualifying limit, all aggregate donations made under [C] and [D] shall be aggregated and the aggregate amount shall be limited to 10 per cent of adjusted gross total income.)

There are two types of investments in 80G.

One which qualify for the deduction on the basis of specified %age (which is 100% or 50%) of the donation.
and the other one which is limited to 10% of the Adjusted gross total income.

Hence, the concept of upper limit dont work in 80G.
