How to calculate NRI status? |
I am working outside India. i go on a contract basis. i came back to india on 14th june, i.e. i landed in India on 14th june, now i want to know, on which date should i fly back in Dec'07 so that i still maintain my NRI status. I know that one should spend 182 days outside india so as to have a NRI status, but the only confusion is whether these 182 days are counted from the day you fly from india and include the day you land up in India or not. please help. i will be very greatful and thanks in advance To be on safe side, please leave India on 11th Dec.07. To be on safe side I am calculating the day you landed 14th June and the day you are leaving 11th Dec. is also taken as your stay in India for the purpose of 182 days. |
