Is there a job for someone who has a keen sense of smell?

In other words, is there a need for someone who is passionate about good smells. I am hard working, have an impressive resume and I can identify between many different perfumes, colognes, air freshners, body sprays, shampoos, foods, etc. etc!

Actually, there are a whole lot of jobs in the food processing industry, the winemaking business, and other areas.

There is also an enormous amount of research in the neuroscience field on the sense of smell. You have probably heard about pheromones, which are odors that animals put out to attract the opposite sex. There is both scientific and commercial research out there to find out if people have pheromones and exactly what they are. (Can you imagine how much money someone could make if they could produce a perfume or cologne that would literally make them more desirable to the opposite sex?) But there is plenty of other research as well on the sense of smell, and there is a need for people who have an acute sense.

One place that you might really fit in is a research institute called the Monell Chemical Senses Center, which is based in Philadelphia. They do all kinds of investigations for government and industry. I think it would be pretty exciting to participate in their research.
