I have a $400 light bill this month. Nothing has changed in use?

I switched to a new provider because I thought $200 a month was too high...well saturday I got a $400 light bill for 30 days of service. What could be going on? Also, over the last month, I noticed that my lights would dim for a few seconds and then come back on. Well last week the lights went out all together and stayed off so I called maintenance. Well the maintenance man went out to the meter and replaced some sort of black box. Well that seemed to take care of the problem, but this morning, it happened it again..the power/lights went out for less than a second and then came back on. Could this problem have something to do with my very expensive light bill? I live in a 2 bedroom townhouse - I can't afford this type of bill every month.

Call your electric company and have them check your meter! It could be rating something wrong or not working right.
