How do I become registered as a nursing assistant? Can I register online?

Most people take a class at a community college or other vocational school. The state determines how many hours approved CNA courses have to be. Part of the class is in class and clinical portion.

In some states (like North Carolina) anyone can study on their own and challenge the state test. See if your stated is tested by these people: http://www.vue.com/ .

Thank you!! Report It

I believe you have to go through the State just like if you were a RN. Ask your personnel supervisor or nursing supervisor. They can tell you.

No you cannot register online!!!! You have to take a program through a college or ROP to get registered! It's not like filling out a form

No, you have to take a nursing assistant course then after completion, take a state board exam. This exam will be much easier than a RN license exam.

your instructor will direct you or go to the State Board of Nursing.

I live in ohio and I am a state tested nurses aide I had to take a weeks worth of classes then take a written state exam if you work at a nursing home they should give the classes and exam right there

Depending on the state that you wish to become certified in. In NY, NJ, OH, VT, MI and a few others you can apply at www.prometric.com. But you will have to take the CNA class and become certified through the state.

First, you need to go to school for it (if you didn't already). Then, to become certified, (CENA; a.k.a., Certified Nurse Assistant), usually you do on-the-job training, sometimes being placed by your school. This is how my one daughter did it (she worked at an Evangelical Home for sick elderly) and that is how my teenage daughter is now doing it (she also works at a home for the elderly) through her high-school.
I hope I've helped you! More info.: If you are in high school, you may want to talk to your school counselor who should be able to lead you into how to accomplish this. If you're beyond high school, you can make an appointment with a college career counselor who can also do this.
Good luck in your endeavor!

get a job as a nurses aid at a nursing home and they will have you certified after training

First you will need to go to an actual class upon completion of the class, there is a state practical test once u pass it then you could apply for your C.N.A license so that you could take the written part of it -
Good luck!!!!!
