Is it possible to go to the Doctor's themselves to see if they are in need of a transcriptionist?

Is it possible to go to the Doctor's themselves to see if they are in need of a transcriptionist?

Absolutely!

Although I have had the best success with the office manager. If S/he is not available, leave your brochure and card, and then call back. Be persistent until they say no.

Tons more info on being an independent medical transcriptionist on the website below.

That's a good question. I don't see why not...Have you ever been to a Doctor's office when there WASN'T a salesperson waiting to speak to the physicians? I'm always curious about how they get in to see the "Doc" without an appointment.

Give it a shot. Make sure that you are totally prepared. Bring your resume, references, an example of your work .Be rehearsed and most of all be brief. Good luck!
