What's being a nurse like?

I'm a high school student thinking of eventually getting a Master's Degree in nursing so that one day I can rise to be an administrator in a hospital. I want to get an idea of how nursing is like.

you might also see a lot of people in pain, so you need a good heart and like that person already said, yes, you would need a good stomach too. many people are disabled, so they cant do things on their own.

maybe study something more, be a doctor for something. then you would get patients everyday and treat their diseases and injuries.

My friend just started her nursing career. This is a direct quote from her. "There's a lot of *** wiping" Sorry to be so graphic, but I think people either have the "stomach" for nursing or they don't. I couldn't do it, but I certainly admire the people who do.

it is a very demanding job, quiet tiring but what else is not!
rewarding in terms of helping people (that is the philosophical side of it) and guaranteed you will always have a job any were in this word.... good luck

a lot of nurses leave the field after a few years for other carrers....hospital administration... theres a few routes to getting to that

I would say if your long term goal is to be an administrator in a hospital, go the MBA route, at a school that will let you focus on the healthcare industry. It sounds like a better route to travel.
