Whats the minimum requirement for promotion if you are a registered nurse (RN)?

Whats the minimum requirement for promotion if you are a registered nurse (RN)?

You need to check your facility's policies and procedures. Most places will not promote someone who has less than 2 years of experience in their field. Someone needs to have great clinical skills, time management and problem resolution skills.

Depends on the position you are being promoted to. There is a lot of variance in policies depending where you work, too. So you aren't going to know unless you ask your employer.

What are your career goals? Nursing is a profession where the majority of nurses work at the bedside. Many hopsitals have what are called "clinical ladders", which means you don't have to go into management in order to get a promotion. Typically, you would need a couple of years of experience to begin working on that. Check with your HR department regarding your options.
