Good work environments for Nurses?

I hear alot of negative thngs about the nursing work force.
I admire nurses and think htey do NOBLE work.
But what is the atmospher like in hte work world?
do they get treated poorly?
Of course, I know there are good and bad places everywhere....just wondering if nursing work places are
REALLY bad...

I work in a very supportive environment. The staff is like a second family. All staff is recognized for the valuable role they play, and I don't feel the looming hierarchy of physician - RN - CNA where we work. We're all on a first name basis with the docs, we adore our management team, etc.

There are always bad places. The great thing about nursing is you have so many opportunities available to you that you can take some time bouncing around until you find the right fit for you.

No they're not all bad, it's just like any other field..some places are better to work for than others. I have been told that new nurses tend to get treated badly by older, tenured, bitter nurses. We shall see.

I love working in the medical field. The atmosphere can get tense like any where else. You will find so many good caring people to work with. Someone else wrote if you are lower on the totem pole ppl tend not to treat you as good. We are all human beings. We all have to learn. I work in surgery and part of my work is training new personnel, I try to treat people like I want to be treated. A medical career is the way to go.

Take Care and Good Luck
